Does there have to be water in a waterfall?

Grand Falls near Flagstaff AZ is about 180 feet high. When flowing, it supposedly looks like chocolate milk. I crossed the dry upper riverbed off to the right side in my Toyota...

The broken off chunk on the right is as large as a 2-storey house.

Nice to see the OR/NW love This is making me want to go out and shoot some falls this weekend, weather says partly cloudy on Sunday, could be great conditions Here's a few more...

More Algonquin images... one of our favourite trips... along the portage from Penn to Welcome, the falls near the bottom and the little swift near the top.

I was born and raised in MN most my life, but looks like I will have some new falls to explore when I go back to visit.

This falls has a lot of character and different vantage points to explore. Head up the trail and there are three more falls, all very different...great area.

Thanks, it a busy spot. The was a very dark shot, can't remember the specs...but the long exposure helped to take some of the people out.

I love the waterfalls you can walk behind. Gives you a feeling of how powerful they are.

I was at upper Wahkeena Falls a few months ago. Everything was so slippery that getting to a decent viewpoint was not in my comfort range. I would want climbing gear to risk my bones and gear.
