The stonework at the base of this pretty waterfall is the start of a complex set of channels that directs the bulk of stream flow through a series of mills that stretch down the valley.

Where I live the majority of the waterfalls are in the mountains and run clean - it's strange seeing a muddy waterfall! I am surprised how strange it seems to me.

It was after a period of torrential rain with a lot of run-off from the surrounding countryside, not helped by the fact that the natural vegetation is being removed to provide agricultural land.(Cameron Highlands, Malaysia)

Wanna-be water fall, once it completes enough erosion to create a vertical drop. Small real falls in the back, but we were warned the trail is treacherous even when dry. Weather on this day was AWFUL. Standing on tiptoe I could touch the low dense ceiling of clouds.

Not so pretty, but some rustic rain frozen in time. Shot with a K-5 and a vintage Zenit Helios 58mm lens -- known for its swirly booked -- at 1/4000 last Saturday afternoon...
