A 10 stop ND filter is on my wish list for just those situations. The good quality filters are somewhat expensive, my understanding is that the low cost filters can have noticeable loss of IQ.

Since you have a K3 you can try using Interval Composite Mode. This shot was done without a ND filter using 10 shots in composite mode.

That's pretty impressive Michael. Are the colors fairly natural-looking?

There are so many interval modes. That's the one I used to blur clouds at night if I recall. So what were the individual shot exposures in this one?

Thank you Paul, the shot was around sunset and I tried to reproduce the colors as accurate as I could remember.

I know it confusing trying to remember what all the modes are for. This was taken using Interval Composite Mode in the Average setting. ISO 100, 1/6s, f9 10 shots 5 seconds apart.

This one was also using Composite Mode, 1/15s 10 shots.

Long time since we were in Letchworth. The sudden drops are a bit spooky, Not a place to let your dog run off leash. Did you get an image of the RR trestle?

K-1, 100 ISO to 1600 ISO, Most images ƒ8.

One of my friends was during through the park coming to our place, and it took her more than an hour to get through the temporary stop light at one location. So that deterred us from going across the Hwy 60 corridor. We went the other way, out to Barry's Bay, and then north to Basin Lake Depot.

The oldest building in Algonquin Park....

Walking out to the Waterfall

Lots of colour along the way.

Dave and Tripper scout the waterfall.

Ha;f the fun of waterfalls are the pools and eddies by the shore.

Running water and colourful leaves in the same image. It doesn't get much better than that.

Tess gets set up for a few shots.

More Letchworth

Here you go. I wanted to get some record shots of the trestle. The Portageville (southernmost) entrance to the park and some of the trails around there are closed and will be for a couple of years due to a big construction project on the trestle, to give it more capacity according to the park handout. Note the crane. It is still in use; two trains crossed it while I was there that day. I'm hoping whatever they build is a little better looking.

Lucifer Falls, Robert Tremen State Park:

Trenton Falls, Trenton, NY. Owned by a power company, so most of the water is diverted down a big pipe. I'd love to see this running full tilt with all its water in the spring:

Rainbow Falls, Watkins Glen State Park, one of my favorites anywhere. You are down in the gorge there, with the walls steep and close. It is like a huge cathedral. (This photo is with pretty low water.)

The bridge is designed to take 4000 gigalitres/day.
The estimated flow over the road is about 3000 gigalitres - been running like that for a week (and more to come).
