The last image is pleasantly bucolic

Two more of the Snake River in Hell's Canyon, one in some modest rapids, the second along a quieter stretch.

Parkville Nature Sanctuary

Recent heavy rains in the Kansas City area had this stream and waterfall in the Parkville Nature Sanctuary running at a much higher rate than typical. As a result there was a mist from the waterfall which had a beautiful golden glow as the rays from the rising sun filtered through.

Beautiful shot

Did you use a ND Filter or Stop the lens down to the smallest aperture setting?

Fleming Creek in eastern Washtenaw County, MI. Late fall, after peak colors. Originally a transparency, scanned to digital.

Thank you.

I didn't use a ND filter. The stream was in the shadows and I was struggling to get enough light. I used a little longer shutter speed than I would have preferred for the blurring of the water, but I had already increased the ISO and opened the aperture about as much as I wanted in order to maintain image quality. ISO:400, F8.0, 1/4 second shutter.

It may take a moment to see what's happening in the first image. Sometimes the boy was successful riding this flow.
