wow, aawesome... I honestly think there's nothing more beautiful than a well photgraphed waterfall... I'd love to put together a tour where all you did was drive around and shoot different ones, day after day.

Thanks, Norm. Waterfalls have always entranced me. Though not the way we see the real thing, long exposure of waterfalls somehow evokes the beauty of being there. That one is blended from multiple exposures in LRenfuse. Pennsylvania shale is so darned dark, it's impossible in a single exposure to get any detail in it without blowing out the air-filled water.

The color in your top image is great - saturated without being overdone.

In the eastern US, it would be sweet to follow autumn from Canada south through the Appalachians.

Oregon is also waterfall rich: Columbia Gorge, Silver Falls, Oswald West, Opal Creek, and many others.

Nice photos so far, everyone. This one has moving water, a small "waterfall" in the b/g, and some ducks thrown in for good measure. This was shot at Bear Creek Park, near Dallas, TX in January.

Great shots! I love the waterfalls and moving water of the Pacific NW. With all of the rain, snow melt and elevation changes there are endless streams and waterfalls to explore. The winter might be overcast and kinda gloomy, but the diffused light that comes with it is perfect for waterfall connoisseurs

"Salto de la culebra" at Tolhuaca national park

"Siete tazas" at Radal national park

"Salto de Laja" at Laja

Yep - RAWs can look pretty dull, especially under flat lighting. But, as you write, the info is there. I'm quite fond of LR3's vibrance function. It can bring out subtle colors without making saturated colors garish. Lightroom's discrete color controls are also very useful, allowing specific colors to be made more prominent.
