Thanks mark lj... I was standing on this bridge...

When you're used to hiking or bushwacking through the woods to get your moving water shots... getting one where you just find the right location on a bridge to shoot from almost feels like cheating. The rocks in the picture are where I often set my tripod up. The water is quite high and "squeezed " where the narrows are where the bridge is located.. I really like the current lines in the water.

A bit of a b&w conversion experiment... .6 sec @ f/14, nd filter (may have stacked a polarizer too), b&w conversion in photoshop - mainly a blue channel conversion, though I also created a mainly red channel conversion & masked out the blue channel at the bottom and the trees on the left, in order to bring out some detail and highlights. I finished with a Platinum-Palladium tone. SMC-A 28/2.8

Here's a couple from last weekend at Wahkeena Falls in Oregon.....

(Includes my daughter, for a sense of scale)

Here's what she was looking at.....

The water was rushing pretty good that day - but I imagine it always does out there, with the amount of moisture they get!
Abd, yes - it IS that green out there!

Great shots, Norm - definitely illustrates the "moving water" concept!

This one was shot with a polarizer and a ND 8 filter. I'm quite pleased with how the water came out.

Easter weekend had an extreme minus tide on the northern Oregon coast. I went [again] to smuggler Bay south of CannonBeach.

I'm back from 6 nights in the Barron Canyon. One tonight, more to come.
