A little woodland stream along one of our walks. We start at an elevation well above it, and go mostly down to the stream, then further down to a pond into which it flows. Then we start back - - - up.

Scan from a chrome, converted to B&W because the color was hopeless. Maybe the most photographed waterfall in the world? From this angle, even having seen goodness knows how many pictures of it, it still looks impressive.
Fantastic perspective!!!

Hidden in the rainforest, in the wild and remote Tarkine region of western Tasmania, is a sweet little falls called Lovers Falls. It is accessible only by boat, along the Pieman River. The falls were just a trickle when we were there after an unusual dry spell, but still very beautiful.

Wow, no wonder they closed it. How did you get this shot? From the war museum?

Outflow from Quabbin Reservoir photographed a couple days back. After it goes over the spillway it flows under this road where it is "pinched" so it gets deeper and faster. The road goes on across the dam, but since 9/11 they've blocked it so you can walk but no longer drive across. BTW: This is nowhere near the maximum flow. That took place in 1984, but I was too busy with personal obligations & keeping our cellar from flooding to come and get a picture.

FYI follow-up: A postscript I added did not post for some reason. The big spillway is at 530 feet elevation. The reservoir as of two days back was about eight and a fraction inches over 530 feet. In 1984 (I thought it was '85 = corrected) the reservoir reached about 21.6 inches over 530 feet, a bit over 103% capacity, so at that time the flow through this opening would have been about 2.5 times greater. A friend who is a professional photographer did come to get pictures from very near the same spot. Prints of that image are posted in several banks and public buildings in town.
ALSO: To the left the road goes directly over the dam. In the past you could drive across but soon after 9-11 it was closed to vehicles so you can only walk across now.
