Another dam that is also the spillway, a design that presumably minimizes erosion at the base of the dam.

little woodland cascade. As with almost all these ephemeral streams it's been completely dry for many months this year.

North Fork French Broad River. It has been an unusually wet year in an area that normally qualifies as temperate rain forest, so no dry streambeds around here.

Yesterday I made the trip out to visit a well known but well hidden little waterfall in the Longendale Valley in the Peak District. Its been on my list for a while now and getting there involves crossing the river and plenty of scrambling over rocks but it was so worth the effort. A magical little spot and the sun even came out as I arrived spilling light over the top of the falls.

A black and white detail shot, very much my preferred style with moving water.

And of course it would of been silly to not get the overall view,

You are quite right. the detail shot is superior. Great work. Looking at the overall view, there seems to be lots of potential for several detail shots. What a wonderful spot. We've had plenty of rain lately, so it would be interesting to see what this fall looks like in drier times.

Falls near Chamber's Lake

Small falls on a stream near Chamber's Lake, CO. This little drainage was probably burned over rather hard a few weeks ago, as this was in the path of the Cameron Peak Fire. Glad we got to see it this summer
