Willdmo, that Porst lens is made by Tomioka, and is exactly the same lens as the one I will be using (Auto Chinon 1.4/55). Jools also has (or maybe had) the same lens in the form of a Sears 1.4/55.
You are right on Jack.
The 55mm f1.4 is a dandy. I still got it and will not part with it.

Wildmo, you should have fun with that lens.

It would be great to see you on board again, Iris. I imagine you are rather occupied these days, so no pressure. We miss your shots, though.

I am changing my lens to use. I forgot sometime ago I bought another step down ring, so I'm coupling my closeups with the Sigma 70-300mm Macro lens. I've been testing it today, though not a good day for testing as it's cloudy outside, it seems to work pretty good. I'll probably stay around 70 to 135mm on this though because I think 300mm is a bit too close. However, I reserve the right to change my mind.

I'm going to spend a week on vacation in Portugal, I expect to take lots of landscape and architecture shots so I guess the 10-20 makes sense.
So Sigma 10-20 it will be. I won't be anywhere near an Internet connection for the first week of april or so, so I will post the whole week when I get back.

Wow! I just read this long thread - apparently I miss it when a new monthly gets posted. So nice to see such a large group.

I've never done a 50mm or 55mm prime, but have plenty of wide angle in my albums, so I may go with a normal instead of the K17/4... It is such a pretty lens though. APS-C does not do it justice.

It appears we will have a large group of participants in April!

Still thinking about the lens, probably I will go for the Helios-44K..... or something completely different.....

Thanks Bruce

I have decided to join, because I still have a lens from Rense which I have to test!
So I will use the bbar multi C. auto tamron 1:2.5 f=105mm

Not sure that I can make it every day, but I'll try again this month. I'm going to use an SMC Takumar 1:2/55mm M42 lens. It came with my very first, new SP1000 way back in 1974. This will be its first solid workout in at least 15 years, and its first digital workout ever - teaming it up with my K-r

Rod

@ patolds Paddy - I was thinking of the Soligor 28mm too but opted for the 55 above instead; I look forward to seeing what your deft hands & mind come up with.

In my last post I said I reserve the right to change my mind on the lens. Well, I tested the 70-300mm with closeups for a day and realized I can't hold it as steady as I want so, I'm going back to the 18-55mm with my closeup sets. On this setup I've added an extra lens. It's actually the front element from a 28mm that broke. It gives me an extra bit of closeness and I like the effect I get from this element.

Sounds an interesting, intriguing set up. Looking forward to your shots PL.

I, too, have changed my mind and have opted for a Super Takumar 55 1.8

Gudday all, good to see the bloody Dutchies back for a month of frivolities. And Mar..goodonyah!

My Soligor turned put to be nothing of the sort! Packed for the trip west, when I bolted it on last night, it was the Auto-Promura CP Hi-Lux 28mm f2.8! Well I couldn't exactly dash home (although I am) and change it, so Promura it is!

Talk about changing minds!

Cheers Paddy

Now to finish downloads for last month, and hopefully catch up on some commenting, which I've been bloody rotten at last month!

Hello there, I think I should do this again - and try to complete the whole month this time rather than become hopelessly overworked at the end.

Deciding between M 28mm f2.8 and M 200mm f4 which is probably more fun but less convenient. Hmmm.
