That's excellent.

Superdisappointment here, was completely overcast all afternoon and evening. It's possible tonight will be clearer.

It was cloudy (the sky AND my head) this year, but I did get a shot of the March 19, 2011 supermoon.

ND filter? Polariser? Sunglasses? Quick!

You do have less ozone cover than other areas, maybe it's brighter there?!

Thanks Tim.

I missed the March 2011 one, Jack, looks like you were spot on.

Wolfie_girl You'd think f22 was ideal, but ever full moon I've shot has been f8, or f11. This one was shot at f8, and 1/200s.Course I was shooting all manual too.

I had cloud coverage for the rise. How do weathermen keep their jobs? They said it would be clear. I am glad I didn't rest fully on the moon and took some shots while shopping relier in the day. Interesting note, my Macy's has a sign in the door that says no photography.

It's a 62mm filter and I only have 49mm and 52mm polarisers. doh!!!

there was some lovely cloud circling the moon so it would've added some nice ambience. It's way too cold out there to go trekking out, and the couch is right in front of the window. After all my f22 shots coming out stark white I kinda gave up

f8 and 1/200 eh? I think i was at 1/20 but ISO was pretty high. dropped that down to 400 but still no dice. Ah well, night shooting isn't really my forte so I was kinda stabbing in the dark. I may have gotten one with some slight cloud cover that might turn out ok but it's late now and I'm too tired to process. I'm starting to notice a trend.... taking the shot and then pp a few days later. Ah well... least I'm taking the damn shots right?

Thanks for all the advice guys! I'll get into moon photography proper one day.... so many things to do and try, so little time!!

It's your metering. Use spot metering in auto mode, or use manual exposure. Moon shots are normally shot at f/8 or f/11.

K20D, A*300mm @ f/8, ISO 200, 1/45s, shot though a light cloud cover. This was the night before the supermoon. I went to fetch my 1.5X and 2X Teleconvertors, but by the time I returned to the deck the moon was behind the clouds. Supermoon night was very cloudy, no chance to try again.

thanks for the tip audiobomber. i'm on a manual lens and i thought i'd pressed the green button before shooting. ah well.

i'll see if i have time tonight to go through the pics and see if i got anything decent (probably not).

very cold here today. 3 this morning and by the time i got to work it had risen to a mighty 5! cloudy skies and cold fingers aren't exactly inducive to taking piccies... brrrr...

The Green button would work, but only if you spot meter on the moon.

Quick note to make my excuses ahead of time. I have an extremely busy week ahead of me, so I will be a little light on the comments until later in the month (after VIctoria Day maybe) I'll be putting in my 2c as I can but I expect little access to the computer.

I don't know if any Single In participants are interested in photographing the Transit of Venus on June 6 (last chance for anyone on Earth alive today) but here's a link to a post that might be of help.

I'll be away for a few days, not sure I can post anything during this time but I'll be back by the beginning of next week at the latest.

I see some brilliant shots as I quickly peruse the daily postings... beg your pardon as I slowly work my way backwards. I could use some 26 hr days, but then I realize I'd be even further behind because some one would want more of my time!
