Squirrel-fest

At last, the thread you have been waiting your whole damn lives for!

It's entirely dedicated to squirrels
(and potentially other squirrel-like rodents).

Yes - they're a photographic cliche, yes - you're sick of seeing them, yes - it's hardly even a challenge taking a photo of a squirrel (they love it), and, yes - they could potentially go in the wildlife thread...

...but wouldn't it be fabulous, fantastic, amazing, to have just squirrels (and potentially other squirrel-like rodents)?

[If anyone already did this, I'm sorry; I did search first.]

I'm in! Squirrels are fun to shoot, and easy to come by in the woods. Here are some red squirrels I shot at the end of the winter.

Nice thread. Thanks for opening this.

Good squirrel shots you have there. I have a fair few of these little guys:

Hey, I haven't seen a Squirrel posing like that for quite while. I only see them running/jumping full speed and disappear.

Cute one Ivoire.

Visual here the birds have to fight the squirrels for their food. And I live in the city so there aren't many foxes.

Not a big fan of the tree rats... they just destroyed another bird feeder.

Tim, great idea for a common yet photogenic rodent!
I lloked up squirrels and found that prairie dogs, chipmunks, and marmots are all classified as squirrels. So I'll throw a couple in the mix:

Yellow Bellied Marmot at Yellowstone National Park

Black Squirrel from down the alley

Prairie Dog from Badlands National Park:

Nice ones Boris. You just need a Squirrel be gone feeder...squirrels can't get inot it because the holes close up, squirels are too heavy.

Tom, good shots all. TFS.
