Sandy said I cheated a bit by using a zoom in July.

That's not cheating, if it weren't for my four zooms, I wouldn't have any lens to shoot with.

To make things clear I'm in with the M50 f/1.7... Looking forward to battle against manual focus and great control over dof!

Okay, I'll try another month. My lens of choice is a manual lens that I'll use on my ist* DL. It's a lens that Sears had put their name on so not sure who made it but I'll try and find. A 135mm Macro Zoom lens, f2.8-22. My camera has been giving me problems but I'll see if it last through the month. I'm not taking the lens off the camera unless I have to. I've shut the AF off and shooting in Manual. Now if I can remember to shoot manually we'll see.

Well, as I've indicated I'm in and have settled on the brilliant DA*50-135 f2.8. I've really come to like this lens in the past year and I will enjoy working with it this month. Haven't got a theme in mind for the month but one may develop. Honestly, I do better when I follow a theme than just shoot what ever comes in view. So best of luck to all of you on this challenge.

I'm going to try this for the first time! I want to do some macros, so I'm going to use my Tamron AF 90mm f/2.8 SP Di.

Welcome StevePrime & Wired. Welcome back everyone else.

I'm opting for K 55/2.

StevePrime and Wired, welcome aboard!

I have finally settled on Super Takumar 35 f/3.5, as I couldn't do anything really good today with the 105.

First extra shot from last night. The sky was so nice I just had to try to dig some details from it with HDR...

As some of you know, I got my shot for yesterday but as I told so in the Day post, I think I have too much magnification and am still experimenting with what I can do....Stay tuned, next photo coming up this evening. Also I have a project in mind for the next two or three days that does not include flowers or bugs...

So my DA*55mm 1.4 I just got isn't focusing to infinity. The shop currently wont let me exchange it, even though it's only 3 days old. "Its a known problem, so we can only send it in for repair." I call BS. But anyways... I'm going to head to the shops main office tomorrow and talk exchange. If the new lens does the same thing, then I'm going to talk to them about hooking me up with a FA 43mm f1.9 or the FA 50mm f1.4. I love the creamy bokeh of my DA55 wide open, so I'm leaning towards the 1.4 as I love how thin the DOF is. (on that note, you guys who want more DOF than what you can get on APSC with a 1.4 lens are nuts)

So any ways. Do I get let off the hook for the singles challenge due to technical difficulty if I end up being 55mm 1.4 less? I promise I will use whatever lens I replace it with.

Not good news mate! I had a lens disintegrate in April. Had to shoot most of the month with a substitute, so it's fine by me I reckon.

Cheers Paddy

I guess your challenge is tougher than most.

What hook to be let off, it's a personal challenge - I say sub the lens and carry on. If not, there is always September ( ach, I can't believe I considered what lens to use in September for half a second there)
