Thank you. My feet, and the small toe has always been on the shy side of life.

Trod very lightly on this occasion, with the sand hardened by some moisture. Having a high foot arch helps
Same occasion, but the footprints did not work on this dune
More sand
My feet have been a source of pain ever since I started walking. No arches whatsoever. Some decades back my big toes began to bend outward. The left one has been moving faster, and is now completely under the second toe, lifting that digit up and pressing it hard against the underside of the toe box of 99% of shoes. If you've not experienced it, you cannot imagine how painful that toe becomes when being chafed that way. I reshape every pair of new shoes, always purchased extra wide (many companies do not offer that width), by placing a large steel ball into the toe box to force it up. Works best on the rubber shoes called Crocs as I can pour on scalding water to reform the toe box almost instantly. For leather shoes the steel ball must be left in for weeks, although applying moisture then heat will sometimes hasten the reshaping. So once again, young people have relationships, old people have issues.
