An old telephone exchange switchboard. Remember a party line? "Hey Noel, could you hang up so that we can make a call?"

Is this theme popular due to the season? Keep it going.

First you wind the crank on the right. I wonder if any modern phone is used long enough to get as worn as this one.
NEXT: more old, antique, obsolete machinery or simply devices.

Yeah, I know, Noel already posted an image of this entire washer. I bet it still works, and is used regularly. My mother-in-law still used one when I first visited their place, and continued to use this style washer & wringer for many more years.
Why would I deviate from a theme that everyone seems to be enjoying?

An old radio from the mid-1920's, I believe...It may be more than just a radio - shortwave maybe? Not sure what all the dials and knobs were for:

More old devices, pls -

A mechanism that goes into a talking doll, turn the crank and dolly speaks. Made by Edison Electric, a typical doll in the second image. Far cry from Barbie.
Continue the theme

Ancient Overlocker, and it looks decidedly too complicated for me to operate.

Keep the theme

A treadle sewing machine for leather working.
Carry on with old machines. My last post for today. We're off to The Nutcracker by a troupe from Russia.

Wow, really got going while I was at work today. 1937 Tow Truck.

Keep the theme, anything old; mechanical, electrical, etc.

I'm going to inject curious bit of not-so-old sort-of machinery. This is a pistol home-made by a farmer. Not sure that either attacker or defender would survive.
NEXT: More old, curious or unusual machinery or devices.

On that similar "sub-theme" here is a tank, WWII vintage I believe.

Keep the theme going...
