Colt "New Model Holster Pistol" 1861. I might observe that American-made pistols had hand-grips that hearken back to the curved designs of flintlocks. European pistols tended to have handles that were more angular, dropping at a near right-angle below the action. This difference in design makes the American firearms a bit more graceful looking, the European models a bit more aggressive and brutish looking.

NEXT: a toy made of plastic, for something less lethal.

A plastic toy cap gun (sorry I couldn't help it ). This one from before they put the orange tips on toy guns.



Another toy this time but not a gun.
