Part of an oil drilling rig that is towed to wherever needed. It's really multiple machines mounted on a floating platform, but it sure is big, and rather menacing.
NEXT: a small, even tiny machine.

This is an electric typewriter (220v for you in the USA) that is also an accounting machine which explains the double keyboard. I included a crop to show where the numerical entries appear (one on each side of the carriage). In a museum behind plexiglass, which degraded IQ as plastic windows do, more than glass.
NEXT: either old or unusual machine or device.

This old diesel engine at Burke still runs apparently. Keep with old machinery.

This was recovered from the Steamboat Arabia which sunk near Kansas City in 1856. Note sure exactly what it is, though.

Just a photo of a sketch from this reprinted 1866 book. This device on the left page fascinates me. Just goes to show that texting is not such a new idea as people think
