Road into the visitor's center and MDC headquarters/barracks at Quabbin Reservoir. Two decades back you could drive on across the earthen-works dam and on to the picnic areas, but after 911 they put up barriers at both ends of the dam, so now you have to go back out and around to get past the dam. The sign ahead on the right tells you to read the next sign ahead on the right (out of sight from this vantage)

A bit different...but there is a road there.
The road out to Fort Nepean on the Mornington Peninsula , Victoria, is used by both shuttle bus and walkers.
The walkers apparently don't always give way to the bus!
It was like driving through a mob of sheep.

London Street. London, Wisconsin. Slightly smaller population than the London I have the dubious pleasure of working in.

It might not look it, but this really is a road - Old Telegraph Road in South Gippsland, Victoria. [There are quite a few tracks in Australia that follow old telegraph lines.] It's a lovely drive through banksia woodland (an uncommon type of forest), although the deep soft sand in places makes it suitable only for 4WD vehicles.
