Antithesis of the road in the previous post, this one is probably a private road that goes only to a single home/farmstead. Iceland.

Well behaved sheep, Racer.
In Oz they would be all over the road!

I found it fascinating how they were all in neat lines. On another trip through there when they were moving the flock the cowboys on horseback were having a tough time of it keeping them on one side of the road.

A road in Idaho that looks as lonely and isolated as one I posted above in Iceland, but this one is paved and a major route through this area.

That's remarkable! Here's another part of US 30, no sheep herding though,

That was just East of the Idaho/Wyoming border, about a mile or so. The shepherds were moving them from Wyoming to Idaho. I ran that route many times, and saw them going both directions, as far as 10 miles East of that photo, and about 15 miles West, into Idaho. And as mentioned, they weren't always so orderly. The local sheriff for each county on either side of the state line had deputies posted, and they had traffic down to one way only, reversing periodically to allow traffic to pass without too much delay.

A fascinating look at ranching in the West.

I image that someday this road will have enough traffic to justify construction of a bridge, but I find that thought rather sad.

The ferry looks like the ones I knew and used in Australia, over the Murray, but they were often two vehicles wide. But the drive is completely different. The Australian ones used a pulley drive on the cable, not paddle or screw in the water.
