Part of a loop through scenery, one-way (no surprise - the road gets much narrower)

Yup visiting family for a couple of weeks. This was the Puhoi loop walk - I put a couple of birds from the walk in the 300mm plus thread. Great lunch after the walk at the pub.

Have you visited lately?

Fantastic! Hope you had a great visit. Been years since being in the Puhoi pub. Sadly, no visits recently. Last time was beginning of 2018.

Following Basie's animals track in Namibia, thinking that not all roads need to accommodate automobiles and 18 wheelers, the bridge below is maintained by snowmobile clubs along a trail they use through the woods. They also post directional signs, stop signs where two snowmobile trails cross, and "bridge ahead" warnings. This bridge has been damaged and repaired several times in recent years because of exceptionally high water in the stream it crosses, and also just aging and rotting of the decking. It needs some work before the snow flies again.

Below the walls of Edinburgh castle. I'm pretty certain this image was posted on this thread a long time back, but since my recent hard-drive failure, all the records of what I posted from those files is lost. On the bright side, I can re-post those images with minimal guilt - sort of .

I think that's one of the reasons I like to take pictures of grain elevators. They are the closest thing to castles we have around here.

Multiple defensive towers, or "keeps." But beware of the dust. Worse in a grain elevator than any Medieval castle.
