An old woods road where we walk, used rarely now by vehicles that are either doing research in the surrounding experimental forest or some very limited logging, There were once cleared fields bounded by stone fences, but only the piled stones survive as well as an intersection where a tavern once stood, of which only traces are visible. There are far, far more forests in MessyChewBits now than there were during the 18th and 19th centuries.
