October is the season round here for the cold burn - eliminating fuel to prevent massive uncontollable fires. The local trees and shrubs enjoy the lick of the flame and for many species the flame is necessary for seed development and dispersal. Afternoon light.

A few days later the fires were dead but a cool change and the lingering smoke brought the cloud ceiling down very low -same road, morning view.

I'm trying this lens from Ebay as a lightweight walk-about lens. It's over-exposing, sticky diaphragm I think. This needed some PP. Lady in red looks "Photoshopped" in - she wasn't, honestly!

A one-lane spot on Molokai. As I recall the little stream was contained in a culvert, so the short one-lane spot isn't really a bridge.
