Another road in Idaho. Sunflower patches along many stretches - very uplifting to come upon one,

The road to the dam below which you get boats and inflatables for rides down the Snake River through Hell's Canyon. Although paved, the road is narrow and incessantly winding, so speeds rarely get to much less above 20mph.

Looks like a 50 - 60 mph road in England, with extremely wide verges that you can actually drive onto.

The verges on the west side of the road (left side of the image posted) where the reservoir behind the dam resides, sometimes essentially vanish in favor of a drop of well over a hundred meters. In the image below you can see the road as a scar along the left, entering the left edge just below center. The place were the picture above was taken was one of the few points wide enough to stop safely. In the distance the road is down near water-level.

Would that be 50-60mph...until that herd of sheep crosses the road?

Don't see sheep on the road here much, in fact I never have. But there are many roads with 60 mph limits which are about 1.3 cars wide, so passing on coming can only happen occasionally at paved passing points. The verges are usually full of tall grass covering up ditches and holes and the rocks the neighbours place in the verges to discourage drivers parking on the verges. In Australia putting any hazard on the side of the road, or even inside your property to be like a tank trap, to do damage to vehicles colliding with it would make one liable for damages.

And now with heavier policing of using mobile phones while driving people might stop, in the carriageway, just around a blind corner to take a phone call.

This road also runs through Silver City, but this one is a ghost town in Yukon. The image was taken in 2012 - the remains seemed to be in worse shape when we visited again this year.

Not much in the way of tourists accommodations here.
