Yes, Ford Escort. It served us well as a rental. No A/C or extras though.

Gordon Square, London. (I work in the ugly 50s building you can see on the left through the trees.)

I like the feeling of expanse to this. Can you edit out the dead branches on the upper left? It would give a stronger strength to the focal point of the road.

Route 447 through northern Nevada, on my way back from Oregon last week. I think upwards of several dozen people live along its 130-mile length.

Okay, I looked it up and it's really closer to 500 people, but still...

I don't like crowded places. Thanks for the warning!

There are eight towns within 10 miles of my little hamlet each with over 60,000 people in them. The county is only 634 square miles but had a population of 1,140,700 in 2013. Thankfully my little corner only has a population of about 30. A mile way, though, is a village with a population of about 5,000.

Nice! I need to visit that area one day, but I've never been quite that far north in Oregon or Idaho.

Oh no, I can't compete with you Australians on wide-open spaces. But do you have pictures?

Here's a road in the Mojave with no residents anymore, just two ghost towns. It's not all that long, though. The government considered using this area for nuclear bomb testing in the 1940's.

Beautiful picture. The county where I live is enormous, almost 10,000 square miles (bigger than some states), and the population is nearing 5 million now. But, once you leave town, you're out in the wilderness. It really threw me off, moving here from the east coast, where there aren't really any empty spaces. Some places have fewer people, but you'll always find a house or two here and there. It's nice to still be able to get on my bike and ride out to the canal paths on the edge of things to get my "wide open space" fix.

There isn't a high density of people here, but you don't have to travel too far before there is evidence of human habitation. Nevertheless it is beautiful country.
