I like how the power lines by the road have a distant echo in the hills.
Thanks Jeff. Quite often the towers in the hills aren't visible due to haze or blowing dust, etc. We had nice clear air after the rain.

This street in Dallas has some historical significance....

Five minutes before I started a walk this morning, 6 minutes before the rain started. It was a pretty light rain though.

Brilliant. Excellent light, great timing with the cable car and the dog walker, super comp. A real winner.

Thanks!
that was a fun shoot - probably my 4th time attempting it over several years.
The people walking is easy because that is a busy crosswalk at the crest of the hill, BUT the cable car is a whole different beast. If you go too early (when there's no deadly traffic coming at you), the cable cars are not running.
I ended up getting the transit app on my phone which showed in real time when a cable car was about to come up the back side of the hill, and then timed the crosswalk button in my own intersection to favor me being in the middle of the street at the right moment. With 20-30 attempts, i got 2 good ones.

The other "good one" ended up being somebody's 2-story wallpaper in their home remodel...

That's a nice story and a great example of the planning that's involved in getting an amazing photo. I guess someone could now market the transit app as a photographer's ephemeris for SF area ;-)

one one occasion, i dropped off a buddy at Jones Street who could see down the back of the hill, but the app, allows a buddy to instead help me spot cars speeding at me once the light changes..
