Indeed, an extremely nice gesture, Heie. To be honest, though, I am not really surprised - it simply fits too well with your fantastic, intimate and revealing reports from Afghanistan and NZ. So, great stuff again, man, as always. :-)
Too bad I am out because I own the DA* 55. (And, no, I would not sell it, not even for the 16-50. :-) ).

come to think of it.... very few Pentaxian don't own a WR/DA* lens.... the 2nd yr I bought my K200D I bought my first new lens, a 50-200mm WR lens.

so I think those who enters the competition will have a high chances of winning!

I sure can't afford any * lenses, and I don't have any WRs anymore either (had the 50-200 I bought here, but I gave it to my photography teacher since he has a K-7 and my K-r isn't WR).

This is an interesting (and incredibly generous) contest, but I can't think of anything I could possibly shoot that would be considered fearless by any viewer, so I shall just observe what others enter.

My fearless days are far behind me and I own the 50-135 but what an awesome and gracious initiative! Pentax should actually hire you, you are the best advocate they've had in a long time! I salute you for the idea, I salute the lens for its history and what it's seen and I salute the future winner of this lens for the undoubtedly great thing he/she will do with the lens.

Perhaps I will have to think of think of something for this contest. I'm not sure I would feel right about winning since I'm very lucky to have some great Pentax lenses that just happen to not be * lenses.
