This made me dig into my archives. Here is a Saguaro "Forest"!

Saguaro National Park
That's a nice park with trails that will get you well into the forest of cacti. Some years ago hikers were being assaulted by Africanized bees, and the park had to be closed. I'm assuming the bees have been eradicated, allowing hikers back in to the park.

This photo I scanned from the March 2021 issue of Arizona Highways Magazine (photo credit: Paul Gill). I read that saguaros don't start producing side limbs until after about 10 years. In this photo, frost damage has caused the limb joints to weaken causing the arms to droop.

Just some fun facts...

Indeed, it does...one of the most spectacular flowering trees we have here in south Florida, although it is actually native in Brazil. Usually flowers in March. Unfortunately the flowers are delicate and short-lived -- a windy day will strip most of them, so you get a golden carpet instead of a golden canopy.

Dramatic! That's an eye-stopping image. Well done.

Below - a tree - or part of one - that has been defeated by time and wind.

Crop from an image posted earlier. The ripples were just large enough to distort the reflection of a leafless tree into an interesting surreal pattern.
