Interesting, Walt. I don't think I've ever seen a plumeria with a trunk like that, so knobby. Will have to pay more attention to the "mature" plumerias hereabouts.

BTW reprising the Araucarias discussion, yesterday I saw, on the horizon, several more of them with secondary trunks. All in the neighborhood, more or less, within a half mile or so of the house. They are so tall, it isn't hard to miss them if you look.

I found some winter weather in the mountains on the weekend, and thought this half buried spruce tree might make for a good picture. This is right at the edge of the tree line, so the few trees that do grow up there don't get very big.

If I got the right label, this is Transvaal Gardenia (Gardenia volkensii), growing more as a bush than a tree. I took a series getting closer to show the seed pods, then you can back out to appreciate how many there are on the entire plant.
