Pretty hard to outdo those Mountain Ash Des! - wonderful to see them.

Young tree with reddish new growth - unusual in late summer.

Just detail of a tree, or rather a bush, following a rain-then-freeze event.

Crooked Tree.

I suspect this has been pruned like this to avoid powerlines? Looks cool
Yes, the tree was pruned to keep it out of the power lines. The problem is that eventually the weight of the branch will become too heavy and it will tear away from the main trunk.

Then the tree will need to be removed.

Five days since I posted the image above, so I'll try to wake up this thread with a fig tree, cropped to just the trunk. Am I being salacious or do you also spot a slender naked body on the right half of this image?
I see it too.

It is the tree’s butt.

You'd better avoid the streets and roads thread then, because there are some more there!

Sans Souci
There must be a lot of places named Sans Souci. (There's a suburb in Sydney called Sans Souci, and there seem to be many holiday houses with that designation.) I wonder how many live up to the name?

True "Sans Souci" is perhaps less a place than a state of mind, as in the song "I've got plenty of nothin' - and nothin's plenty for me."

However, that said, here are trees at a horse farm converted to a retreat & conference center etc that for me invites a serene stroll that's good for the soul.
