They look an awful lot like eastern white cedar

As you can see, I was thinking cedar as well. We were on tour, and the driver Took us up through this stand of trees so they may be Cryptomeria , as it is an unusual species not seen just anywhere

it's one tree, with a triple-trunk... the bark is similar to ash, but the leaves are completely different than the ash trees we have...

Tree? Now where can I find a tree to photograph? Parts of Kentucky are still coated with wonderfully dense forests that look totally unspoiled, at least from this vantage.

Some very bare trees along a road that's lined with hydrangeas in bloom. A stark contrast.

This appears a bit odd, but it's a huge pecan tree branch....

This birch tree probably fell naturally before it was cut up to clear a trail

Big, old, double-trunk hemlock. Such forks in a trunk are commonly weak point. High up they may split, and no matter where such a fork is, it will collect leaf litter, dust, all manner of debris that holds moisture and promotes growth of mildew & fungus that slowly weakens the wood until one side of the fork snaps off.
