Thanks Racer. Yes they are huge - some are hundreds of years old.
There's one endangered species in the area (although I don't see them in the shots above) called Slender Tree-fern (Cyathea Cunninghamii) which can grow to 20 metres (about 60 feet). Here's an example. It's a very elegant fern too.
