Thematic Trees

Three very large pine trees encountered during our AM walks. The first was especially interesting to me. About 8~10 feet up it splits into four nearly equal sized trunks. This must have happened when the tree was small, but why? And amazingly, all those trunks have grown really big without splitting where they part from each other.

Thanks. I've tried that and system tells me I've already posted the image elsewhere. But Walt gave me a suggestion that I'll try. Got several other images that might be of interest in more than one thread.

Tree debris, evidence that the stream's discharge can go much higher than at the moment pictured.
