From the Kaibab Plateau, just before entering the Grand Canyon NP. The fire was caused by a lightning strike about 10 years ago.

Prunus speciosa - Wikipedia

There are a lot of them in Japan and they are spectacular to look at during spring. Imaging the whole road decorate with these trees and when the wind blows, it looks like snowing flow. The flowers are very weak so it won't last long, 2 weeks max.

We call them "flowering cherry", I believe. A spectacular show in the spring!
