A few posts ago there is a picture of a golden orb spider. She is still in residence under the balcony steps. This morning she had managed to snare a gecko about 6 or 7cms in length. Then over the course of the day smothered it in juices and she and her spiderlings consumed most of it. This picture was taken in the morning. K3 Macro Takumar 50mm preset.

I think I saw her eyeing off the neighbour's tabby cat for next week's lunch.

Keep your eye on what she wraps up. You might find a Hobbit.

I had overlooked this image, taken several years ago in Florida, because it was badly underexposed, but some PP revealed plenty of satisfactory detail had been recorded.

Agreed! It's amazing what details can be recovered. Almost deleted one of my best sunset panoramics because images were severely underexposed. Was surprised when I started processing.

Great shots everyone. I love the eyes on the jumpers, they must hunt by sight. The eyes on this trapdoor seem not so important. They just wait in the hole till something goes past.

There is a video on YouTube of one of those spiders carrying a mouse away.

A couple of views of jumping spider cannibalism. Well, I guess since they're from two different species, it's not quite cannibalism stricto sensu, but close enough...

Pentax D-FA 100mm F/2.8 WR plus HD DA 1.4x and Raynox DCR-250, with Godox AD180 off-camera diffused flash. The first is a single frame, and the second shot is a nine-frame focus stack and is reposted from the Flickr Explored thread...

Five file stack, 200mm f4 SMCA with Raynox 250. Not quite as sharp and detailed as I'd like, but pretty good. This fellow is tiny, body maybe 3~4mm long.
