Spiders' lair. The apostrophe is in the right place. This African spider lives in groups of a dozen to maybe 30 individuals that work together with silk, leaves and other debris to construct a communal shelter, trap and nursery for their young. FYI: Taken from an open game-search vehicle, not allowed to get off except at a few designated rest areas.

Last night I saw a fight or mating ritual going on. Perhaps both? I am pretty sure the big oone in her home didn't see it as mating. She jumped back several times at lunges to her abdomen. Must have gone on at least half an hour. The big one retreated several times and the small one had several chances at escape.

She lives in my kitchen and never caught anything in her first week until I threw her a couple mosquitoes. Since then she has caught all sorts of things and grown to bursting.

This spider was swaying wildly in the wind by a single strand. Took time and many exposures of which this was the only one anywhere near acceptable (don't look closely, the IQ is marginal at best). Then I realized, it's dead, It's just a dried out husk.

Walking my yard this morning I was curious how a dandy lion bloom was stuck in the grass. It was a spider bubble.

I couldn't see the spider because it was so small until I went macro AND zoomed in. Still hard to see through the dew.

It was gone in the afternoon. Just a tent to sleep in overnight?

Spider webs get damaged easily, It's not unusual for a spider to make a new web every evening, and recycle next day by eating the web from the night before.
