I got this cool new app on my phone called 'Spidentify' which helped confirm what I always though this little guy was... a Garden Orb Weaver.

(as with all my shots this month, shot MF).

A big spider, but camera shy. It would not turn around.

The green one above was an early macro subject when I got my K-S2. I love the comb-like structures on the inner segments of the hindmost (?) legs.

while working on some fencing yesterday, we stumbled across an egg sac that had recently hatched and watched as the tiny baby spiders made their way into the world (mainly the backyard)

I've been experimenting with reversed lens macro using zoom lenses. I'm really pleased with the results. These are shots taken with a reversed DA 18-55 II.

Lurker:

Tiny jumper, cropped a bit.

Do you have those in Massachusetts? That looks like a big bad tarantula and I would happy to know we do not have them in the Northeast. Great picture! I posted a picture of a good sized tarantula about two pages back but I took it in Arizona.

SFAIK there are no spiders that large in MessyChewBits. The one in the photograph was in a display at Disney World.
