One of the most popular spiders in NA for photographers (= large, colorful, beautiful orb webs built in conspicuous locations). This one from the underside with focus primarily on the dew.

Thanks! I get lucky finding spiders all over.

I never took Latin, but I can cook up the occasional binomial when the need arises...

Big pedipalps on that one. I'll bet they're used for semaphore communication with a potential mate.

The pretty face of a "cellar spider." These have extremely long, slender legs, almost like a daddy long-legs. I think these are considered relatively "primitive" spiders.

I'd never noticed the pair of triplets in the arrangement of the eyes. I'll have to watch out for that next time I come across one. Very cool!
