Spider on a leaf on balcony today. It was in a very relaxed mood as it seemed happy to have a SMC Macro Takumar 100mm and various tubes pointed at it. K3 camera hand held at ISO1600.

Out of focus Halictus ligatus, but tiny immature crab spider for the win! Of course I never saw this tiny thing on this tiny flower. Daisy Fleabane flowers are about 1cm across.

NOT a spider and not a carnivore, rather this is a creepy-crawly myriapod that's primarily a detritivore, but it wants a place to be posted so....

Let me guess - - at least sometimes you use an LED ring light. And that first jumping spider image is a winner, but I really like the last image in your set. Nice silhouette, an unusual treatment of a spider image most of which are close-up and front-illuminated, or if not closeup on the spider they include an orb web.

Thanks. I have the ring light attachment for the Venus 25mm macro, but dang if that lens isn't hard to use. DOF is just so shallow and I'm rarely( maybe never) steady enough on a live subject to get multiple photos that I can stack. A good focus rail and still subject lens but I do most of my bug photography on live, active bugs. The middle two photos are the DFA 100 macro and I just use a regular speedlight with that. That lens is much more user friendly. The silhouette one is with the old 35 plastic fantastic.
