Two spiders small enough to stretch their orb webs across the width of a milkweed leaf.

Five days with no posts on this thread. Must be a bad time for either spiders or Pentaxians who photograph them.
Two more little spiders, the second one was eating something.
In the first image, the plane of focus runs pretty much from the upper left to the lower right corner of the image, passing over the spider's body but leaving much of the web and it's dewdrops bokehed..

A very placid spider that let me approach very closely. Usually, when disturbed in the slightest, they will shoot back into the safety and inaccessibilty of their funnel very quickly. I was able to take a lot of shots at a variety of focal lengths (reversed 18-55II). Some of them even worked! I actually moved on before she(?) did.

This one must have come from a water spout, as it certainly was itsy-bitsy.

This spider is in a container in my "studio" at the moment as I work on trying to get a good image of it. This is a multi-file stack, my third attempt, and still not what I want. I suspect the glass of the container is degrading the IQ. For this attempt I used a 100mm f4 bellows reverse-mounted on a 200mm SMCA f4 (not the macro) so each files was at 2X natural size on the K1 sensor. Earlier I did a stack with the 200mm f4 ED macro at about 1/2 life size, but IQ was unacceptable. I think I'll have take this as the best I'll get so I can release spider tomorrow.

Decided to give this little spider ("orchard spider" I think is the common name) one more try using the 35mm macro, which came up just about in contact with the glass of the container thereby limiting the image degradation caused by that glass. IMHO this version has the best IQ.

And another - interesting pattern they make in the web (the stabilimentum) - looks like an old-style appendicitis surgery scar.
