Well, that's why I opted for today Johnno. Had the day off work too. Needless to say, it was a horrible ride home. The first half hour had me sh*t scared.. wind was blowing me all over the road on a new bike. Rain & wind died down a little and managed to get home in one piece, frozen.

On a positive note, the bike is an absolute, grin inspiring dream to ride and has been very well looked after. Although it's not the comfiest bike around, i'm very proud to call this one my own.

Dale, can your 10D wait a little while? I'd really love to take you up on that offer but I really need to learn how to turn this beast.

Cheers.

Hope you didn't need to use the Westgate Bridge Karl. That gets pretty hairy with big winds. A couple of years back I had to commute to work over the bridge in 100k winds and seriously chuck it down rain using semis as mobile wind breaks. Surprisingly my undies were relatively unsoiled at the end of that ride but it was scary.

Yeah, I had to go over the Westgate bridge. But it was at an absolute crawl. The ZX-7R does not like 1st gear at low speed though. The CBR250 was always very short in 1st where as the Kawasaki is VERY long.

Tim, that looks awesome. Four carbon fibre end cans.. thats a pretty penny right there.

Tim, loud is good.

The sun poked its head out today for the first time in 3 days. This has been the worst weekend to buy a bike weather wise.

This bike is friggin heavy. I can barely back it out over the stones in my driveway.

So I went up the Reefton Spur today and decided to take the turn off for Lake Mountain. There were light showers coming up the mountain and to my surprise there was some snow on the side of the road. When I got to the top is was friggin' snowing! Still quite cold for spring.

Hmmm well it wasn't exactly relaxing considering it was damp and there was soggy bark everywhere. Tyre is a 180 on the rear and still pretty new. Yet to have it slip out on me.

What is amazes me is the burnt out trees in the background from "Black Saturday bushfires" 7th February, just a few month's back, now covered with snow.

Weird country we live in.

Did a charity ride today, (toys for kids), and the things people had strapped to their backs/bikes was gold.

Once this was my bike but a couple of years ago I sold it to my brother-in-law and he still owns it.
This picture was taken last December when we were on vacation in Holland, and within a week we go again.
