PP Challenge #100!

Hello everyone, its my pleasure to host the 100th PP Challenge! I chose a photo I took at the side of a motorway just as the sunset was ending. Its not a perfect photo, but I hope this will give you more freedom to really process the heck out of it! I think it has potential that some good PP can bring out. Feel free to really have some fun with it.

Photo taken in Slovenia, near Črni Kal with K-r and DA 35mm f2.4.

Download jpeg (2000x1328)
Download dng (raw)

The Challenge will be closing June 17

Previous challenge can be found here.

I think this is the first time I've tried any of the processing ones...Didn't get too carried away, cropped it to 1600x1200, converted to monochrome, increased contrast a bit and a little darker, added some minor sharpening. I think the crop worked fairly well, the framing by the pine limbs comes out and some sky still showing, and the building in the foreground comes out as the focal point...

I tried changing the color on the original and making it more vibrant, but I too found it more attractive in black/white. Added a dark vignette and it almost seemed like I was hiding in the bushes. Sharpened and adjusted clarity.

well sorry to not be unique here but I've been in a BW mood lately and the natural framing here lends to the vignette take so well, so here's my pass at it...

I tried to keep the PP pretty simple. First step was to download the DNG; from there I used Lightroom just like I do with any other RAW file. I adjusted the white balance to cut out the color cast and added some contrast to boost the colors a bit. Then I used the crop tool to straighten the horizon and tightened up the crop. From there I just added the profile corrections for the lens and added a vignette. The vignette was a last minute whim, but I liked the way it pulls the eyes toward the building, so I went with it.

saw this at pentaxforuns facebook, i felt inspired by your picture, here it is my submission i hope you enjoy

I croped the image so the lines would fit into the intersections of the crop, removed the white shrubs because since they were really diferent color from the rest of the vegetation and in my opinion they were distracting from the main horizon church and housing, so did i remove the right part of the trees

I thought I would take up your challenge to "process the heck out of it." So here's my humble interpretation...

I tried to improve this photo by making it more artistic:

Also, turning it into a painting:

Awesome, a lot of very different entries! Will be hard to choose. Hope I get some more submissions, though. And not all on the last day
