PP Challenge 102

This is one of those shots that when you take it, you know there is an interesting photo in there somewhere. But when you download it to your computer, you end up scratching your head wondering why you wasted the electrons. Your challenge is to prove me wrong and find that interesting photo.

As usual, there are no rules for this challenge and no restrictions on the post processing liberties you may take.

This challenge will end 1 week from today (July 13th) at 8 PM EDST.

Good luck to all.

Tim

My thought on this.

This is my original post:

"This is my approach to the PP of the above photo. I had to upload it to 500px.com because sadly the quality of the image was quite different when uploaded to the Pentax forums.
I also tried on my photobucket account but the result was the same as the forum here. Only the 500px shows the image exactly as it has been processed.

If there's problem with this I can delete it of course."

And after Na Horuk's pm who thought of some solutions I tried to save the image within the sRGB color space (with the option "save for web" in Photoshop) and everything came exactly as it was supposed to be. It seems that sRGB color space is what it was needed. Thereafter I deleted the image from my 500px account.

Thank you Na Horuk!

I tried a style I've used for a few of my onstage shots a few years ago when I played guitar for a band in Louisiana. Using Irfan View, changed it to B&W and sharpened the crap out of it, then opened it in GIMP. Applied a filter called Threshold, which makes it look like this, then back to Irfan View for a final crop at 2048x1536 and resize to 1024x768.

Cropped in LR4 Edited in PSP X5. I had about 4 potential "keepers" but this, using the geometric circle effect is my choice here for the way it accentuates the central alley and emphasizes the shadows thereupon.

My perspective on 102

This is what I saw with a little help of LR5:

Here is my attempt. Straightened, cropped, then applied some adjustments to accentuate the details and lighting.

A pretty fast start for this challenge. Plenty of room for more entries though.

This challenge pic. reminded me of a winter landscape under a full moon. So I tried to recreate the same conditions with my entry.

Okay Todd! That's awesome! I'm going to need more info on how that was done.

This is for 'Todd'. What tool did you use? This is so original. At least, I've not seen this effect before. This one's the winner in my view except, of course, for my entry
