Some great images here - must get back to Georgian Bay sometime! These show ancient fossil stromatolite dolostone, and rebound beaches caused by the land rising after the melting of the ice sheet, both at Tinney Cove, Nunavut

If you like shooting rock, there are some great possibilities there.

This was also a French River image, from the previous page.

It's hard to believe some of this rock, until you see it.

These formations on the shore of the Indian Ocean off South Africa looked like sand until I got closer. They are rock.

I think this might be a different "High Falls" in Algonquin Park - this one is in the southern panhandle.

I love those formations. They seem to be common along much of the coast of Eastern Cape and KwaZulu Natal.

I don't feel quite so alone taking photos of rocks now!

A selection from Inchnadamph area, in north west Scotland. This is one of the few bits of Scotland that has soft enough rock for caves, and also above ground it is a collection of valishing and reappearing streams, which don't always come out well on photos, but here are a few:

Looking up in late April.

Sinkhole - the river ends here, and goes underground. The orange and white marker was from a mountain navigation race I was photographing.

Above, and below the same point; dried up stream bed below, the real stream disappearing.

Lots more to be taken around this area, will get some more in the future!

Lovely colours!

Here are some more snowy mountains - taken a few weeks ago. A bit unusual to have this much snow so late in the year.

Pretty cool. They are called Tafoni, and are likely due to salt weathering on the seaside.
