Wow that really is some scary stuff Mar. I hope it all turns out well and sounds like you have a good doc.

I am completely undecided about September. I've been my most consistent ever this month with the 77. I think I've only missed two or three days so far. If I don't give in to the lazy lurking desire to take a break, and if I were to go with a lens that I haven't done in SI before, it'd have to be DA35/2.4 or FA50/1.4 or Tamron 70-300LD, M50/2.0, or Toyo 28/2.8 or DA18-55 kit zoom... (M42 lenses are not in consideration until I get a better adapter.)

Well, I'm in for September. I was telling eye doctor's scheduling person about our challenge and she said I could play in September but I would be out for October. That's when the surgery will take place. They found that my eye pressure was too high and they're going to have to bring that down before they can even dilate my eyes to see my cataracts. So, the beginning of October I'm scheduled to have them laser a hole in my right eye, then I go back in a week to see how that's doing, if everything right, then I go back a week later to let them evaluate that eye. Then if everything is okay with that eye, a week later I go back so they do the left eye....then another week to see if that is fixed. If it all goes well, they'll schedule me for the laser surgery to remove the cataracts. I was kind of scared when he told me about the pressure in my eyes and why he couldn't dilate them. He said if he went ahead and dilated my eyes before bringing the pressure down, I could end up blind. That's scary, real scary!!
Yeah, it's really scary, I hope it all turns out well, and you back in game again on Nov.

Of course it is. But usually the photographers aren't participating in the liters of drinking as well
So, make sure you choose a lens with autofocus capability.

I will join with the Zenitar 16mm F2.8 fisheye, a MF Russian lens. It's been quite some time since I used it. The fisheye effect is obvious in 35mm camera's and not so pronounced in crop sensor camera's, but we will see what it can do in landscapes and so ...

That's great, I'm getting interested in the fish eye lenses, and interested to see some shots with it during this month.
I hope this month won't end up with purchasing one more lens for me )

Don't expect too much fisheye effect! On my K20d it was hardly visible, unless straight lines were in the utter lower or higher part of the photo....

If I do have the time, I might finally try a month with my FA 28-70 f/4.
OK, I'll do my best I guess. :-) I won't have Internet access at home for the next few days so I will probably post late, but I'm in anyway.

I'm going to try a bit harder for September, to post more shots, and comment more too.

Back in the beginning I started these challenges with a Pentax A28/2.8, I no longer have this lens. I have used my Vivitar 28/2.0 already, so this time it will be my K28/3.5, I think the light will be good enough. I'll try to get some street shots, or architecture, or even landscape. My days at work are starting at 8:00am and finishing at 6:00pm, but if I skip lunch I might get some shots.

I've decided to give it a try and use the 50mm macro instead of my kit lens. I actually like my kit lens better than the 50 as I have never had luck with it (I'm fully aware this is due to my lack of skill). Who knows, after a month of shooting with it I might come to like it, or at least learn to use it better.

What to shoot?

I have been trying to decide what lens to shoot for Sept. I've shot all that I own.... I went back and looked at previous months:
August 2013 K 300 mm f4.0
July 2013 Q 8.5 mm f1.9
June 2013 DA* 55mm f1.4
May 2013 DA 12-24mm f4.0
April 2013 DA 21mm f3.2 AND 6x7 55mm f4.0 on Pentax 6x7 and 120 film
March 2013 -scratch-
February 2013 M 85mm f2.0
January 2013 K 17mm f4.0 fisheye on film
December 2012 M 28mm f3.5 on film
November 2012 M 40mm f2.8
October 2012 -scratch-
September 2012 DA 15mm f4.0
August 2012 K 55mm f2.0
July 2012 FA 50mm f1.4
June 2012 DA L 18-55mm f3.5-5.6
May 2012 F 28mm f2.8 (sold)
April 2012 A 100mm f4.0 macro
March 2012 DA 50-200mm f4.0-5.6
February 2012 DA 12-24mm f4.0
January 2012 DA 21mm f3.2
December 2011 -scratch-
November 2011 -scratch-
October 2011 -scratch-
September 2011 FA 35mm f2.0
August 2011 Vivitar 70-230mm f4.0 close focus
July 2011 K 35mm f3.5

Since July 2011 I have missed 5 months, Shot film for three, and (poorly) participated in one double up month.

I think i am going to take it easy this month with FA 35mm f2.0 AL

The Tamron 17-50 is tempting me to use it for this month. and I think I chose it because I ended last month with a prime which was so much fun, and will do this month with a zoom. keep the DA21 for next month
