A series of photos "stitched" together (old school style) from the Civil War. Two of my Wife's Great Grandfathers are in there somewhere.

What Edmonton, Alberta looked like in the summer of 1962. Scans of slides my grandfather shot along Jasper Avenue, the main downtown business thoroughfare.

My grandfather, the man who shot the colour slides of downtown Edmonton in 1962, was interested in photography from at least 1900, with his images documenting life on the Saskatchewan homestead during WW1.

Wow! Are these glass mounted? The condition is so good. I am amazed by the variety of cars on the street.

The men with horses are a Royal Northwest Mounted Police patrol, before they became part of the RCMP in 1920. i have two more photos from that day, unfortunately the one that is arguably the best focus and pose has the heads cut off on the print.

Kodachrome - from one of about 20 individually boxed Carousels that were loaded up for holiday photo slide shows and have been stored in cool dry prairie basements untouched until I started going throught them a couple of years ago.

Vuescan with Epson 4870 using Kodachrome presets and a touch of dust filtering. i don't remember doing any
fading correction but I may have. Other good ones of Calgary, driving through Yellowstone in Winter, Reno, Cliff House, San Francisco that I will post a few of over time.

I have a bunch of Kodachromes my father took while he was stationed in Korea during the conflict, 1952-54. They look as if they were shot last week. So I doubt seriously your Kodachromes would need any fade correction, especially since they were stored under ideal conditions. The ones you've exhibited here all look to have been shot under overcast conditions, which will affect image saturation, so that might be all it is.

Interesting candid shots. Candid pictures are more interesting, in general, than staged photos.

Scan of a photo of my father with a nice lake trout we caught on Lake Francis, NH (circa mid 70's). How about that swanky fishing cabin!!!
