Others which were merged or bought out like Australian Airlines, Impulse etc. I checked the serial details for a Qantas aircraft recently, and one of those "defunct" airlines still owned the aircraft operated and badged for Qantaslink. Sunstate was also bought by Qantas in Queensland. Eastern Airlines still exists in some form. The Australian airline which I only discovered recently is Alliance, which operates aircraft for mining companies and their fly-in-fly-out workers, directly to mines from capitals.

With the new movie Ford Vs Ferrari, also known as Le Mans 66, coming out, I was going through my slides from the 1960s. I took these at the Nurburgring in June of 1966 just before the race at Le Mans. There were Ford GT40s and Ferraris but this race was won by Jim Hall's Chaparral. Pentax SV, Super Takumar 55mm f/1.8.

Ford GT40 driven by Peter Revson.

Ferrari 330P driven by John Surtees.

Jim Hall's Chaparral driven by Phil Hill and Jokim Bonnier. The first American car to win a major European race.

Good one. Steel wheels and bias ply tires are a rare sight these days.

This remnants of an Academy party back in late 1969/early 1970. The original photo was a bit small so I enlarged it for effect.

College Ball 1986. I was the photographer, and did a "selfie" towards the end of the evening. I'm on the right.

Fun photo from summer 1958 of my parents comparing their fish during a trip to Waterton National Park.

Scanned from a 120 format slide and processed in VueScan.

A few images from Expo 86 in Vancouver, shot from a boat on the water. A little challenging at night. Pentax ME, probably with my M28 2.8.

Great shots, thanks for sharing!

From a different era, in more ways than one. In these safety conscious days, there is just no ways one would close enough to take those kind of shots with a standard lens.
