Post-processing challenge #114

Welcome to the 114th edition of the Post Processing challenge. Same as last time I hosted, I picked an image that I haven't processed before.... Taken in Carlsbad, Ca. back in April with FA31 (a couple weeks after I got it)...

This challenge ends on Friday October 25th at midnight Eastern Time (New York city time).

Simulated film by flattening up the shadows a bit, adding grain and applying Kodachrome's color response.

what a gorgeous shot, todd!

decided to give gimp another go and am pleasantly surprised. it is a lot more like photoshop than the last time i remembered using it. am now suitably chastened.

here is my interpretation.

Hello, first time I'm here; what a cool idea! I played with the photo and have 2 versions, can I post both or participation is only one picture? If so, here's my entry:

Daylight!

Thanks for joining FoTom! You can post both if you wish but only one will be 'officially' considered for the challenge so if you post two then please indicate which one is your entry. Also, it would be nice if you could downsize your entry to 1024px wide or so.

A bit of selective dodge and burn, sharpening and blurring to emphasise the mystery in this photo.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll just post the one I chose, otherwise I'll have a hard time choosing again ha.
Sorry about the size, I'm fixing that =P

Used a graduated colored filter to tone down the sky.
