I think I'll participate for December. I really enjoyed my first experience, back in October, but I didn't want to burn myself out by doing November too. That, and I only have 3 lenses..

Anyways, I'll be using my M 200mm f/4. I received this lens as a gift about 6 months ago, and I've hardly used it yet, and so I hope to get more acquainted with it this month
What, LBA hasn't bit you yet, dngr?

It will be interesting to compare my generic 200mm f/4 to yours, dngr. I assume yours is a Pentax?

Resistance is INDEED futile.

What with Tim, Julio, Joe, Sandy, Rodd, Torben, Tony, Mehrdad, Wolfiegirl, and just maybe, maybe, maybe Paddy? It's as big as a high-school reunion!
I gotta be in it, it'll be bigger than Ben Hur!
And I'll try really hard to comment more, I promise!

Bokeh? I gotta use something @f1.4 A50/1.4, K50/1.4, Chinon 55/1.4, Sigma 30/1.4, Sigma 85/1.4? FA50/1.4, DA*55/1.4? Yeah, one of these will do.
I'm leaning towards the FA50/1.4, to support Joe and Rod, but open to requests.
And with the weather and light we are having, thank gawd the Pentax goes to 1/8000 sec.

Yeehaw!

I wonder whether we can have some "pinch hit" days, where a substitute lens can be used? just 2 or 3 would maintain the interest.

I had a new camera (K-5IIS) and new lens (DA*55 f/1.4) arrive in the last week. This might be just the thing to discover how a nippy 55 works. Plus it is winter here in Ireland so I get to try out the vaunted low light AF of the MkII K-5

....and no doubt the weather resistant combination would be ideal.

Should be. Its not the camera's weather resistance that i'm worried about. Its me!

Well, I've been toying with several ideas, the DA*55 or a Takumar 55 f2 on a bellows. Still not decided yet.

Yep, it's a Pentax. The LBA bug hasn't bitten me yet as I have the power of the force on my side. Don't get me wrong, I look at new/used lenses at least once a week, but I have other things I spend my money on (read: student debt and just got back into the workforce).

It will indeed be interesting to see how these two lenses stack up against each other

OK, I'm in, with a D FA 100mm macro. No bug shots at this time of year, it's ccccccooooolllllllddddd out there.

I find it stressful to shoot every day, especially later in the month, but the challenge does force me to exercise my hobby, which is a good thing.

Hopefully December will mitigate this with all the Christmas festivities and new year shenanigans. That's what I tell myself anyways

All the talk about fast lenses... maybe this would be a good time to work out the M42 Yashica 50 1.4 I have. It's an auto lens I haven't taken the pin out of so it only shoots at 1.4.
But I've really been wanting to work out the 77. It was the 3rd Pentax lens I purchased, and I've only used it for paid portraits and weddings in all the years I've owned it.

I think I just had a "When Harry Met Sally" moment when I saw this shot.

No wonder you suggested a bokeh challenge.

I have wanted one of these for a long time so i admit that the bokehcember suggestion was planned well ahead of schedule

I must add though that I have 0 experience with anything faster than my da 70 so I expect a month of learning and failing a lot which is all part of the fun.

It was quite a scare to get the lens shipped since our local package distribution center was robbed while my lens was inside it. Luckily it survived the final attempt at preventing bokehcember. Phew!

So many old timers this month! Come join us! it is the most fun and rewarding experience I have ever had in photography.
