Yep, it's a Pentax. The LBA bug hasn't bitten me yet as I have the power of the force on my side. Don't get me wrong, I look at new/used lenses at least once a week, but I have other things I spend my money on (read: student debt and just got back into the workforce). It will indeed be interesting to see how these two lenses stack up against each other

I know the feeling re things $$ needs to be spent on. We're down to one income with the wolfiepup. Having said that, somehow I managed to pick up a Q yesterday by selling off some of my unused lenses. LBA is such that we always find a way. I envy you that your force is so strong.

Speaking of which, I just sold my Takumar 135 2.5 Bayonet. It hardly got used and it went to a new LBA'er. Even though it was sorely neglected in my kit, I still find myself thinking about it every once in a while. Perhaps it will be the first lens that I sell and rebuy at a later date. Your shots next month may help me decide either way. No pressure or anything, Matt.

The Tak 135 Bayo was one of those lenses I could never figure out or be happy with. Mine flared like crazy if it was pointed anywhere near the sun. I sold it and never looked back. Also, I have never loved 135mm on an APS-c camera.

I just never gave the Tak the love and attention it needed. My LBA was rampant at the time, and all I did was acquire, acquire, acquire. I have a Jup 135 and really liked it. And from there, I think I just stopped trying/testing everything else, despite still buying... well, to be honest, that 135 Tak came at a very nice price, so really..... it wasn't like I uhhmed and ahhed over it. It was just silly not to get it.

Depending on how the 200mm f/4 goes, will determine whether or not I will go with another 135 preset I have lying around the month after. It's time I actually gave attention to all my lenses. And then there's all those fast fifties.................. gawd. I think I've already got my line up for the next 2 years.... IF of course I have the stamina to stick to it.

I'm in, and I love the idea of Bokecember!

I was planning on going with my new Sigma 10-20mm for December's challenge, but given the theme it might not be the best choice. I have a number of lenses capable of pulling it off but I think it comes down to either the DA 70mm LTD or my DA* 50-135mm.

Decisions!

Need to see if I can find a K-3 in Adelaide this week and then I'll be in. Went to one local shop a few weeks back - no stock yet, maybe a week or two. Went back yesterday - 'we had eight come in and they're all gone'.

Off to another shop now in my lunch hour to see what they have...

I imagine Ricoh would be exceptionally happy seeing how the K-3 is being received in the market.

After lunch update: Struth Ruth! K-3s are like rocking horse manure. Store 2: we had 4 or 5 but they're gone. Store 3: didn't have any and wasn't sure if they had had any (wasn't my usual saleman at this store). Store 4: we had some for pre-orders but they're gone.

I'll be in again too with my Super Tak 55mm 1.8. Can't wait to see what everyone produces with their lens choices!

Bugger it, I'm in. I just sold my m50 1.4 (which I'm regretting now particularly). So I think I'll give the DA-L 50-200 a go. Depends if I get a macro in the BF sales or not...

Just took out my lens to inspect and realised it's a Hanimar 200mm/f4.5! Wonder if that extra half stop will make much of a difference.

Ended September early with a bum back and have been gone for half of Oct and Nov visiting family. Dec sounds like a good month to jump in though, lots of familiar faces. Besides Bokehcember is a wickedly clever name,Torben
Still deciding on a lens. Maybe a Vivitar 28mm f/2.8 CF which does nice in close focus. Or a S.Tak. 50/1.4 which I've barely touched and is supposed to have a nice bokeh. Or something else.

Took out my Tele-Takumar f/5.6 preset today with bokeh in mind and the jury is still out. Interested to see what you think of your somewhat similar lens. I thought the preset was much easier to use than an M42 with the A/M switch.

I am in a quandary because I want to use my 18-135 birthday gift. Also I used my DA70 all this month, and that has good bokeh. BUT my best lens for December is probably my M50 f1.4...

One thing November taught me is that I don't really like the DA70 Ltd, isn't that sad? I found that I don't think in that focal length, and it was too narrow a view for me.

I am in for December and I will use the 18-135, because I deserve the freedom after this constrained month. I will save the 50 for when it gets even gloomier.

*nods*

I haven't spent enough time with my a/m switched lenses to comment. In fact I have a feeling I might spend the first week with the preset set to wide open just to ease myself into it...

If nothing else the weight of the camera will be significantly less. The tamron 103a is a tank.
