I would like to start a thread of our top ten photos of 2013.
This will be no easy task and does not have to be your best work, just your favorite.

It's tough choosing your own top 10. I'm sure tomorrow I'd make a different selection.

This is with the 50-200 WR I had just gotten at the Fry's blowout sale. Technically it's not that great a shot, but the glasses get me.


I think these Zouaves got up too early and forgot to change out of pajamas into Civil War uniforms. This is with the 18-55 WR I had just gotten off a forum member.


At the Stagecoach Days in Banning. Some events were for the little kids, such as the pony-stick race.


I am a grave hound. This one of wrestler Jim Londos has a great feel to it - much easier to get than with the common "flat-in-grass" markers.

From the "Spyders in the Garden" event at the Los Angeles Arboretum.


Photographer and money machine in the middle of nowhere.


The owner of this kite is a regular at the So Cal Japan-America Society kite day.


The Mullin Automobile Museum in Oxnard CA has the best old cars - ever.


A Thanksgiving Day outing with the 18-55 WR at the marina area of Long Beach.

What the heck, I'll participate. The first 6 were easy to pick, the next 4 aren't as good, and I have many more shots of similar quality, but I picked these.

Boriscleto- The photo of the Saw Whet Owl and its handler is my favorite.
SpecialK- The kite photo just works perfectly.
Civiletti- I can't pick a favorite but #3 or #9 for me.
Kozlok- I have to go with #4 because of those puppy eyes.

This is a tough exercise! Without putting too much thought into it - just kind of picked images that popped off the page for me as I looked through my albums. One thing that I realized once I was done with my compilation - all of these photos were taken within 50 yards of my house!

All that said, my personal fav is the first eagle in dane.dawg's post. Very exciting! Following closely behind is a tie for second with every other photo in this thread. (well, Stormtech's dog may edge out the others every so slightly!)

As an interesting aside for me personally, 4 of my favorites this year are from my Tamron 70-200, one each from my Sigma 30/1.4, SuperTak 55/f2, SuperTak 50/1.4 (8 element) , DA15 LTD, DA35 Macro LTD and DA40 LTD.
