Thanks. Been one of my favourites since I took it. I like the 3Dness of it with the repetitions going all the way into the distance. One of those things I have been seeing for years at work and in the last year since I started photography I have wanted to capture it.

Also what is attractive about the picture is what is not seen but is in the subconscious of those who have worked in factories like the sounds, smells and vibrations... Factories are exciting places! That would be a good thread.... "factory pics"!

Dane, thanks for the challenge of this thread. There have been some stunning images posted, which are a credit to the photographers. They display just how varied our world is and how differently we can see things. It would be easy to get intimidated by the quality of the images, but I have decided not to be

I have added mine, which I sorted over the Christmas break, but only found this thread today. These are from around New Zealand and Australia.

A note on the lenses used but not categorised - images from A series lens were as follows 35mm - Zeiss ZK 35/2, 58mm - Voigtlander 58/1.4, 90mm - Leica R 90/2.8 Leitax conversion. The Swans with the K or M lens were taken with a M200/4.

Reading this thread I have again been inspired to take more photos in 2014, and learn more. Thanks for starting this thread.

The last 2 images are on the Carl Zeiss thread here and here and the system doesn't let me load them twice

I had originally completed this exercise as a top 12 and these are on my zenfolio site

There are some absolutely stunning photos in here - but despite potential intimidation I've finally decided to have a crack at pulling out ten of my my own photos. It's taken me a while, primarily because I feared sitting down at my clunky old computer to look through photos, and partly because I was unsure from when to start, as I only became a Pentaxian in October (driving a Lumix before that). I've decided that to address the first point I will just go with whatever I already have on Flickr; as for the second, I will include a small number of non-Pentax photos, as there was no mention in the initial posting of camera restrictions - but I will weight my Pentax photos more heavily.

So...

The first couple are with my Lumix G10:

Choosing a top ten at the end of this year is going to be just awful. I got a Takumar Bayonet (takette) 28mm and just love it to bits. That, plus the holiday at the beach I'm on with wife and kids at the moment means a whole lot of photos I'm really pleased with. And it's still January.

Interesting! When I go through an pull what I think my favs of 2013 were (not including the nsfw ones), they're all film except for one. Curious if anyone can spot it.

Thanks 8) I now the O-GPS unit with the astrotracer function, which I'm coming to grips with; the images are very different - though I haven't had a really clear view of the Milky Way to shoot with it yet.

Nope. Six is a medium format shot (Fuji GA645i with Fuji Pro 400H).

Three is film. LX with Ektar.
The answer is five. K-5 IIs with a Lightroom preset that emulates Ilford b&w.

Ahh you announced it too soon!

Yeah I shoot a LOT of BW, and I didn't think the BW pic looked like any film I know...
